The width of the LG WCD-800 (78.5 mm) exceeds its predecessor, which provides an even greater area of contact between the charger and the phone. As a result, inductive energy transfer takes even less time. LG claims that the efficiency of the WCD-800 is comparable to a traditional charger.
It is expected that LG WCD-800 will first make its debut in Korea, and by the end of the second quarter of this year it will arrive in North America, where it will work with devices that support the Qi standard. The cost of new items has not yet been reported.
