Following ViewSonic, AOC announced that it was refusing to release monitors with CCFL backlighting and will focus on releases of monitors with LED backlighting . Therefore, all models that will appear from the beginning of 2012 will have a LED backlight.
LED can significantly reduce the amount of energy consumed by the monitor (50% lower than that of monitors with CCFL), and the monitors themselves are much thinner and offer the user better picture quality, higher contrast and rich colors.
