KDDI has advanced one step further in the field of wireless technology, introducing a new type of microSD memory card. The company presented two carriers made by Mitsumi Electric Co Ltd and Renesas Technology Corp, respectively. Both of these cards can not only record information, but also connect to a WLAN. Everything is implemented quite simply: the cards are complemented by LAN IC, compatible with IEEE802.11b / g, transmitting antennas and other devices.

According to the developers, their offspring will greatly simplify the process of data transfer, eliminating the end user from the need for cables. The LAN IC used by Mitsumi Electric is called AR6002, while Renesas Technology has the name KS21. However, despite the promise of such an idea, the date of the final release is still unknown.
