New miniature Bluetooth Skala-700

Sony LCD TVs have become much smarter and more thrifty

This morning Sony officially unveiled a new line of LCD TVs, Bravia V5, in Tokyo, PC World reports. This series is still represented by two models that have a screen size of 40 and 46 inches.

Both models are remarkable in that they can switch off automatically if there is no one in the room. Using a special sensor that is under the screen, Bravia 5 determines if there are people in the room where it works. If no one, then the screen turns off the TV. When the first people appear, the TV turns on again. It is worth noting that after turning off the TV screen, the sound does not turn off, but still works for 30 minutes. After that, if the room remains empty, the sound also turns off, and the TV goes into standby mode. As stated, their power consumption is 129 and 153 W, respectively. In this regard, it is worth recalling that the power consumption of similar models from the Bravia V1 series, which were presented last year, is 217 and 263 watts.

As expected, the TVs from the Bravia V5 series will be on sale on February 20. The price of the younger model (with a 40-inch screen) is $ 2,314, and the older model (with a 46-inch screen) will cost about $ 3,085.
